Met hun gedurfde nieuwe reclamecampagne laat Marsh de andere kant ...

Rather than being solely something to guard against, Marsh believes managing risk smartly can give proactive companies a competitive advantage in their marketplace. "This campaign expresses our belief there should be a new, more complete approach to managing risk going forward, and also signals to our clients and the market that Marsh is back on its front foot," said Brian Storms, chairman and chief executive officer of Marsh. "There's no company in the world better positioned than we are to help clients understand the new realities of risks, mitigate them, and turn them into opportunities for upside." The Marsh campaign is running in print publications both in the U.S. and globally, including The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Financial Times and key local and trade media. There is also an aggressive out of home campaign in several major cities throughout North America that includes airports, bus shelters, billboards and subway elements.

Sweetly fumbling toward love

Cashback is a sweet, melancholy comedy for rueful romantics that should have landed here to honour St. Valentine. But we'll happily take it in the name of St. Patrick.

This expanded feature-length version of the 2006 Oscar-nominated short film by hugely talented young British writer-director Sean Ellis deals with the unhappy consequences of being dumped by a girlfriend.

The question asked is, What is love, anyway? And while we're at it, What is beauty? As formulated by shoe-gazing art student Ben Willis (appealing Sean Biggerstaff, the Quidditch captain in the first two Harry Potter films), there is no easy answer.

Ben is in pain. One day he's thick as thieves with Suzy (Michelle Ryan). The next, she's ditched him for a bigger man on campus. Because he's a sensitive artist, he takes the news like a shaft to the heart.

Ahlibank launches chip-based credit cards

Ahlibank has launched new chip-enabled credit and debit cards, offering customers additional security against frauds.
The EMV (Europay Mastercard Visa) compliant card, also known as smart cards, carries data that ensure that it could be used only by an authorised customer, Ahlibank said.
Once all retail outlets have point-of-sale machines to read the smart chip, cardholders need to key in a secret PIN number, that reduces the risk of fraud.
Apart from enjoying higher protection against frauds, the customers also get a range of benefits including insurance and a package of reward options at a later stage.
Smart chip technology is gaining worldwide acceptance and a large volume of card transactions across the world are now carried out by 'chip and PIN'.

Nanjing Automobile produces MG Rover cars

In a reversal of fortunes of both the British and Chinese auto industries, the Nanjing Automobile Group Corp. (NAC), started to make Britain's famed little sports car the MG in Nanjing.

NAC's new plant in Pukou area of Nanjing can produce 200,000 MG Rovers a year. The company won't say how many cars it will produce this year.Investment in the 300,000-square-meter factory will total 3.5 billion yuan (450 million U.S. dollars) over the next five years.

NAC bought the failed British carmaker MG Rover in July 2005 for 97 million U.S. dollars.

NAC will first make the MG7, a mid-scale sedan, and the MG TF sports car, which the company claims will be the first real sports car to be manufactured in China.

Construction of the new plant started last March. "It's amazing that in just one year's time, NAC has transferred equipment and facilities from the UK and has started producing cars," said Paul Stowe, NAC's quality director who has worked for MG Rover for 10 years.
